Suckage? Topping Off Fluids

I took my wife's car for some scheduled maintenance and a low coolant light that comes on. Part of the service is the topping off of all fluids. The next day after I got it back my wife says she's out of wiper fluid. I pop the hood and add almost whole gallon of wiper fluid but it swishes and swirls around and never rises to a visible level. I check out the engine and I see that they didn't connect the hose the wiper blade and underneath the engine the wiper fluid dripping out.

I'm taking it again after I called it in. I'm thinking I got charged for service that was only partially done because how can you not notice fluid dripping out and the wiper fluid container never reaching the max level. This should be a freebie or do you think they'll charge me extra?

You're taking it in so they can connect that one hose and fill up the washer reservoir? Would it not be more convenient to do that item yourself than drive it down? I understand being upset at possibly shoddy work, as my own experiences haven't been great (why I now do all the work on my vehicles). But maybe the ends may not justify the means here.
Maybe just me, but I think "all fluids" means oil, tranny, brakes, clutch, power steering, coolant and maybe differential, which is often ignored/skipped. If you take a really literal interpretation then they should have filled up the gas tank too.

I agree with above, as it's easy to do yourself. Similar thing has happened to me. But if I had payed for it, I'd probably want to let the shop (dealer?) know. If it's a decent place, they may give you a discount or freebee on a next visit. If it's not, like the BMW stealership here in NOLA, they'll just tell you to eff off.

No I connected the hose back. I could do that myself. It's leaking somewhere else where I can't see or get to.

I would be suprised if they had anything at all to do with it... I don't think windshield washer fluid is typically considered part of the package. But I could be wrong.

I suppose it is possible that they accidentally pulled a hose off during the course of whatever else they were doing, so perhaps it is indeed their fault.

They gave it back to me saying some nut/washer/bolt wasn't screwed in all the way to the container and it leaked out. As far as I know it's fixed. No leaking.

In my mind topping off fluids includes everything that can be added through the engine.

Once I got my car back with the tube connecting the pump to the washer unhooked from the washer male plug. So I just plugged it back in. Still, kinda shoddy.

I don't think that wiper fluid goes through the engine. :)
