a South Dakota company thinks it's what america needs .
The product, Sumseeds, has been in development for about a year. The seeds are grown in North Dakota and Kansas and shipped to the company's Willow Lake plant, where caffeine, taurine, lysine and ginseng are added.

The 3.5-ounce bags sell for $1.99, about twice the price of normal sunflower seeds. The company is working to get them into nationwide distribution.

Yeah thats kinda nasty. Thats like a farmers habit or a baseball players habit along with scratching one's self. besides, if you put caffeine in sunflower seeds, wont the grow up to be shorter?

All the various caffine products and energy drinks can't be good for you in the long run- from sodas to Starbucks. I see people in their early 20s with hand tremmors already (although of course I can have no way of knowing the cause).

C'mon... it doesn't cause cancer... so it's OK by me!

By the way, we already have caffeinated soap (http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/accessories/5a65/) and caffeinated lip balm (http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/accessories/78e4/) so why not sunflower seeds?
