My disdain for Dell is well known, so it may come as a surprise that I actually ordered a Dell Server for my work. As I stated in my thread in the Hardware area, our exchange server took a dive, so I ordered a 2950. Since we needed the Server asap, I ordered it Next Day Air. Sure enough, I have an email in my inbox this morning which states that the Server shipped yesterday and will be delivered today. I go to Fed-Ex and check the tracking info...it says the server wont be delivered until Monday!

Turns out Dell screwed up and accidentially sent it ground. They apologized and credited us for the shipping...but that was all they did. As they freely admitted, even if they reshipped another server built to our specs it wouldnt get there until Monday. (Dell is too cheap to pay for Next Day Saturday Delivery)

Yep....Dell sucks.

Honestly, I don't think HP would have given you "Next Day Saturday" delivery either... on one of their Proliant servers.

(If that makes you feel any better.... :D )

My problem is when you pay for next day air delivery and its supposed to be delivered on Friday...but they screw up and send it the wrong way. Well, then I think they should stand up and do whats right by sending it Saturday delivery.

Honestly as a consumer I agree with you...

However many businesses (not just Dell) don't do it that way. They'd rather just refund you the money for the shipping rather than pay the extra for Saturday delivery. I've seen that happen before.
