Apparently all platforms will get Guitar Hero III even the Wii. All the guitars will also be wireless to boot. I'm looking forward to it but the graphics on the Wii I doubt will be as good as the other systems. Still could be fun.

Guitar Hero, a game not made famous for its graphics...so visual appeal is not high on my priority list when it comes out on the Wii.

I've been waiting so long for this game to come out. I even borrowed a PS2 and a Guitar Hero game just to help pass the time.

I have a PS2 and picked up Guitar Hero 2 a few months ago after sampling it in a Best Buy. Lots of fun. I agree that graphics aren't a draw for the game so it shouldn't be too inferior on the Wii versus PS3 or 360.

Doh sorry about the link. Thanks DFU.
I tried the Xbox version at Best Buy and I'm absolutely horrible at it. I blame my small hands. :(

<School's Out by Alice Cooper>

That's funny...I was just thinking that it would be a good song for the franchise on the way home from work tonight.

By the way, I'm really hoping they pick better songs for GH3 than they did for 2. I was really disappointed in the lack of fun it was to play some of those.

I'm scared about this one.

Red Octane was bought by Activision and Harmonix was bought by MTV.
RO/Activision own the rights to the name "Guitar Hero" but not much of the game engine itself or the HUD, which is owned by Harmonix.

Harmonix is making their own game, Rock Band, but the initial rumors of price are quite steep. $250-$300 ish for the game, guitar controller, mic and drum set. Neat idea having all that, but steep for people who just want a guitar game.

The videos IGN released of GH3 last week look a little sketchy. Button charts look pretty uninspiring and the HUD has changed.

I don't know if GH3 will be any good without Harmonix behind it, and Rock Band will be too expensive. Looks like GH 80's edition may be the last good GH game (because it's the last one by Harmonix and Red Octane). :(

I'm waiting for them to develop a game that uses a Real Guitar instead of the little buttons, supposedly it is being worked on.

Funny, that looks an awful lot like the controllers for the other platforms.

This is definitely not a game where the Wii enjoys any advantages over the other platforms.

They've got a Tenacious D song in this game. That's so metal.

Sure it does, you plug your wii controller into the guitar. It's wireless, and I would think, a touch cheaper.

Don't know about the cost of the wii guitar controller versus the other platforms, but wireless guitars were available on other platforms for Guitar Hero II so I can't imagine they wouldn't be available for GHIII.
