i went to Home Depot yesterday to pick up a 10X10 shed kit for the back yard. i had one of their employees figure out how much it would be for everything several weeks ago and i had a very directional quote of about $1,300.
so i went in and grabbed the shingles, drip edge, tar paper, nails, flooring, and shed kit and went to the customer service counter to apply for their CC card because i'd get 10% off if i opened one up. i don't usually do that but what the heck, it's a free $130, right?
well...she rings it up and it came to $798. :gle: huh?
apparently the kit is MUCH cheaper if you get one that is already in stock.
wOOt! now i just have to build the sucker.

congrads on a new shed.
i bought one of there sheds 2 -3 years ago . and for the most part im happy with it now . its a 10x18 . i bought the floor kit.and was not happy with the design it been ok on a cement slab . (the floor kit to rest on )but not on dirt direct.
i had to return and buy extra lumber so i have a better frame .
also seeing i own air nailers it took a lot of the work out of building this shed . any one want bags of nails .
fyi cheapie - paint the shed when your done building it .thats just a primer coat on the lumber :)
i bought the Handy Home Products Somerset 10 Ft. x 14 Ft. Storage Building With Floor Kit*and 4x10 exstender .i also order 2 windows for it . they sure get you on any extras !

yeah. i'm not real happy with the lumber that came with teh kit. 2X3 instead of the usual 2X4 that i would use. and the wood looks like crap. lots of cracking and flaws. but i'll wait to see if i want to replace any of it until i start building it tonight.

heh. i had 6 yards of mulch delivered on monday. and since i'm going to be gone for 9 days and my wife is having a bunch of family over this weekend, i HAVE to have the mulch taken care of before i built the shed.

It's staring you right in the face....
Wait 'til the family comes over and hand them rakes and shovels as they walk in the door! You'll knock it all out in a few hours!!

heh. my wife is having all the female cousins in my family over for a girls' weekend without kids. i will be in OR and i'm guessing shoveling and raking mulch isn't on their agenda.

Crappy twisted wood seems to be the norm today. I guess that 2X3 is OK for a shed.
