I can't remember what model, but she is over in Germany right now and picked it up yesterday.
She ordered it through some program before she went overseas and picked it up over there then took it to where they will ship it later this month. it'll get to the US to Oklahoma near her house about a month after she gets back. It was... $35k, including shipping to the US. :) (If I remember correctly anyway...)

Yeah, she got a really good price on it.

You can save a nice chunk of change doing the Euro delivery thing. Plus you get to break in the car in Europe, stretch its legs on Autobahns, and then drop it off in any major city. If I remember, it's about a 15% price difference, so if you're planning a trip to Europe anyway, not a bad deal.

Beautiful car!
Forgive my ignorance. But if they include shipping to the US in the price and it's 15% cheaper, why do you have to go pick it up? Why can't they ship it here, and still be 15% cheaper...

I dunno. First, they probably save money on tariffs, etc., as the car is no longer "new." Also, they want to encourage people to do this, as you get a tour of the BMW factory and new museum in Munich, you are the first one to see "yours" as it rolls off the rack, etc. The idea is to seal you as a BMW customer forever.
I've forgotten the other reasons. But if I ever buy another BMW, and I don't go the CPO route (which IMHO is better, as you get a better warranty than new and still let someone else eat the depreciation for the first couple of thousand miles) I'm going to consider this strongly.

I wish I had a chance to check out the factory when I was there, there was a 6 month waiting list for a factory tour. I'd like to hear more about that though Jenny...nice car, nice price...

Those are the best reasons that I remember for this.
For anyone in the military stationed outside of the US, they have a separate program, but sort of similar. The idea being that you don't do taxes.
