Do you make your bed every day?

Sometimes, but that usually just means smoothing out the blanket once. I'm horrible with it. Maybe if I had nicer sheets or something. Maybe if I get married.
I got used to doing it when I've had to (Army, or camps), but otherwise never of my own volition.

My wife takes care of it. But I usually try to "make the bed" before I get out of it (pull the sheet and comforter more-or-less into place, slide out the side and tidy up that spot).

Every day.
I have to- it's the first thing I do unless patrick crawled into bed with us and is still asleep. Then I make it around him and when he gets up I finish :D

I only make the bed when I change the sheets, and even then it is not really made. I have my own blanket and so does Bigjon. Then the kids bed is pushed up to ours and it has 2 sets of blankets on it for them. So yes and no, but not really.

I do it almost every morning but I don't spend more than 20 seconds on it, just straighten the pillows and pull everything over the top of them.
For those of you who make the bed compulsively, and/or are driven nuts by an unmade bed, where do you think the motivation behind that behavior came from? Is the rest of your home kept tidy as well?

wife makes the bed . if it was up to me . i change the sheets and wash the blankets. toss them on the bed and only put the bottom sheet on the mattress .the top sheet stay loose .as i can't stand the sheets tucked in .even when i spend a night at a hotel. i have to free up the top sheet to fall a sleep. and i alway sleep on my side with the sheets balled up between my knees . or my wife i have boney knees i guess .and i hate the closed in feeling of tucked in bedding . i do like the look of a made up bed when i enter a bedroom do . what can i say im odd i guess !

Yes. The motivation behind it is that dirty homes are gross, breeding grounds for allergies, diseases, bugs, vermin, and in general a poor reflection of the character of the person who is in charge of taking care of the home.
Look, I raised a whole bunch of kids, worked, volunteered for civic organizations, and my church etc..and my house was always clean. When the kids were small, sure there were toys about the place and kid mess in general. But did I allow dishes to pile up in the sink? Or writing on the walls, cereal all over the floors..etc..HELL NO. For one, it's disgusting, secondly, why let the mess pile up when it would only take me longer to clean it when I did. I had rules. And they were followed. And still are. Do I love dusting? nope.Washing Dishes-of course not.. Vacuuming-not my favorite. Does it need to be done. Yes. I have a big old house with lots of stuff that needs to be looked after-If I don't do SOMETHING on a daily basis it would take me forever to give it a good once over..

no, i don't bother. Our bedroom is our sanctuary - if guests are over, the door is closed. The curtains never get opened, the bed is never made. we're just going to curl back up in it a few hours after we've been home, so why bother? We do clean it of course, though probably not as often as the rest of the condo since guests don't see it.
I will make the bed if I'm staying as a guest in someone's home, because it's just polite, if that counts.

The thread/poll on this subject had a really great discussion on how not making ones bed was cleaner.

Edit: looking back it was just one post I think

I don't like my sheets tucked in and the wifey and I can't share a blanket. So therefore we each sleep with our own blanket and never make the bed. :D

I only make my bed when people are coming over for the first time and I clean the house. Me and Girlfriend use too different blankets, and we never lay those out to "make it" in the morning.
