Have most everything together, but as part of setting up the CPU the Asus mb manual mentions to make sure and connect the cha_fan1(calls it the Chassis fan) connect. Its a 3 prong connect, but I don't see anything to connect it with. I don't have any 3 hole cables, so I'm at a loss at the moment. Anyone have any thoughts for my tiny brain would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

As long as you have enough case fans attached to your power supply... I wouldn't worry about the chassis fan being connected.
It won't affect the performance of your system... as that connection is mostly for BIOS monitoring of a case fan.
Just make sure that you do connect the CPU_Fan to the appropriate connector.

The fan that can matter with regard to the motherboard hookup is the CPU fan. Some BIOS defaults will shut down the system if the CPU fan speed is below a minimum setting. The check for that fan can usually be turned off in the BIOS, but you have to have a fan connected at least once in order to boot the system to change the setting.

Thank you very much for the replies! Would have said so sooner, but my oldest managed to get a warning message on another computer that he had been phished, so I spent 24 hours trying to figure that out. In the end the heatsink and fan had a connection for the cha_fan1 so I hooked it up and all is well. I got a warning that the cpu fan RPM was low, but that's because there isn't anything hooked up to it. I was able to disable that in the BIOS.
This went really well. I was amazed everything came up and running 1st boot. Only thing driving me nuts is that da#% Windows Messenger! I take it out of the load at start up under msconfig and its gone on restart, but next start it's back in the dang system tray and I have to take it out again. I don't have this problem on my other Win XP Pro systems.
Can't wait to get the 4 monitors hooked up with the SLI'd vid cards for trading!
Thanks Again!

Yea, it is a resilient and annoying little POS. Open up the program just once and look for a "Start when Windows starts" option in the settings menu. It shouldn't trouble you after disabling that.
