radio is dead...

My parents have a 02 or 03 E320.

They took the benz to vegas and stopped at the state line to shop at the outlets. It was really hot ~ 115 degrees! And when they turned off the radio to make a phone call, it would not turn back on. This happened before like 3 years ago, same situation oddly enough... vegas and all, but now our mercedes is not covered under warranty.

When we press the on button, the screen loads with the benz symbol and "Mercedes Benz" but then nothing happens. Can't even open the cd loader.

Is there anything I can try before resorting back to the dealer?

Beat on it with your fist. My old Pioneer tuner does the same thing and that's all it will respond to. :boxing: :throw:

Poke a wire hanger into the CD tray and rattle it around in there. Then kick the faceplate.

Or just park it in a dark garage overnight & let it cool down & see if the problem goes away.

take it to best buy and buy a new radio and have them install it .and buy the exstended warrienty !
