Well supposedly office depot is closing out their dvd's. Some people are reporting 25% and some are 50% already. But the official date is this sunday (17.12.00) for the dvd's to go to 50%. There is also a $10 off $40 coupon here http://ofc.rsvp0.com/servlet/website/ResponseForm?hMJEzmhkLl.25VT--.25VTbgmLkgHs.25VT.26tHps

just print that out and go to the store. This is for B&M from what I know that will have the dvd close out.

it's 10 off 50, not 40..the official date is 12/17/00 for all dvds to go from 25% to 50%..

I assume this is Office Depot B&M? There don't seem to be any dvd's on their website.

I don't know if it's just me, but i don't see ANY DVD's for sale in their sunday ad. I know some East Coast peeps have gotten the deals, but what about on the WC?

I'm east coast...

picked up 6 dvd's for $45 after tax, and after using two $10 coupons ($10 off $10 for signing up for aol, $10 off $50 coupon)...the selection was crappy, but i'll be exchanging them after christmas...

I'm in Maryland and the Office Depot I went to had no clue about the 50% off. They were all still 25%.

Oh well I'll check back in a few days.

They're "closing out their DVDs"?

Does this mean they won't be selling DVDs in the future?

CiViC,

Could you do me a favor and let me know what coupon code is listed on your receipt for the 50%? Office Depot by me was still at 25% (coupon code #7743). Thanks.

Ya, what is that code? I went to 2 ODs last night and they said they'll be clearing out DVDs but only at 25% off starting today. Please reply, thanks.

Ok I finally managed to pick up some DVDs at 50%

There is a big sign at the display shelf when that particular OD has them.

Also, the last day for them to get rid of ALL their DVDs is December 24th. Which means probably on the 24th it'll hit 75%. However, selection will be most likely be nothing.

They just take the 50% off at the register.

What do you mean by that? Refunds? Exchanges at some other store? I want to do something similar, but don't know how I should do it.

Not much of a selection, but good for returning at other stores. :)

you don't need a coupon. they just use that code at the register. went to two different office depots. one had a pretty good selection (u-571, american beauty, titanic, tarzan, blade runner, platoon, the rock, eyes wide shut, plus about 10 other titles). the other one had only 3 dvds left (stargate, eyes wide shut, stargate, and some other movie i've never heard of). so, go now and see what your stores have got.

got 6 dvds for $51 (including tax) after using a $15 off $50 coupon as well. i'm also going to go and swap a couple of these dvd's at other places. for those of you that don't know how to swap the dvd's, just go to any place that sells dvd's (walmart, target, sam goody, suncoast, warehouse music, etc), say that you don't have a receipt and would like to swap them or exchange them for store credit. this is a pretty good time to do it too, since people will be exchanging stuff without receipts left and right during christmas, but you can do it anytime. done it many a time at suncoast and used their gift card online where they sometimes have better deals.

If you dont mind, where can we get our hands on the 15 off 50 coupon? Can we stack it with the 10 off 50 coupon too?

By the way, if you guys have some time, go to BANandtech's forum and read the posts by their MODERATORS on the OD discounts and where to go return w/o a receipt. Its so funny.

Sorry, I couldn't reply a couple days ago, every damn time i hit reply the page timed out...soooo...yeah, if you guys go to kmart they'll give you a giftcard with the credit (no need to exchange it then and there). I only returned two movies there and bought one, I didn't return frequency because the lowest price they sold it for was $12.99 and that's all they were giving me...

Dvd selections are so limited right now..if not gone. I went to 3 ODs but only bought at 2 ODs since PG&E shut down the grid at the city that the 3rd OD is located at. At least the manager is holding the 3 dvds for me. Bought 3 dvds at 1st OD for $13 and some change and got 3 more at 2nd OD for 12 and some change. Going to 3rd OD tomorrow to get a few more for around those prices.

To get best deal (not that you can get any better then 50% off) and also a little risky, buy 3 titles totalling more then 50, give them the coupon for 10 off 50 which brings it down to 40. 1/2 off of the cost of the 3 dvds total, then sign up for aol which is $10 off. I didnt have to sign up twice since the 2nd OD I went to, they were really really busy and didnt have time to bother with my signing up. The manager just told the employee to type in the code 1234 for the $10 off.

Not bad for the waste of my 2 hours. 6 dvds for less then 25 bucks. Averaging less then $4.30 each. Since they're for Xmas presents, I wont have to agonize over how bad the movies are since I wasnt able to get my hands on any titles that I was looking for. J/K. They're not that bad. But for less then $4.3 per title, they're great.
