what size and brand of dc/ac power inverter to buy for a laptop ?
and is it worth the cost of buying a direct wire unit. or are the cigarette lighter plug in just fine for a laptop .

As far as I know, older laptops only consume about 50 watts. Newer ones..75 watts?? So a 100 watt inverter shoild work.

You can probably find an adapter that will plug directly into the lighter socket from your laptop - those are pretty common, and might be cheaper than an inverter. What kind of laptop is it?

its a gateway . but see i also need it to charge my cordless rechargeable drills and power tool batterys .

when im on a job site i need to charge up my back up batterys a lot of times .
