So I have a recently repaired furnace in my attic that was leaking. All was great until I now notice flies coming through my air vents. I bought some sticky tape and something that is supposed to attract them and last 4 months hanging in the attic... I'm wondering if I should get some sort of bug bomb for the attic as well. Any suggestions are appreciated!

You should find out what is attracting them first, i.e. dead rodent in attic. Who did the repair, yourself, or a repairman?...if the later, did he leave his lunch up there. Common flies have a lifespan of approximately 20-25 days depending on temperature. After finding the source a bomb should work. I think.

That would be awesome - do you have a secret red room in your basement anywhere?

Well, I haven't been able to locate a dead animal in the attic (the only place one might be able to avoid detection). I bought a bug bomb last night and stuck one up there... Never used one before so I didn't realize the instant shower of poison it would create. lol. I set it off and scraped up my knees hauling ass out of the attic. It was quite the sight. :thud:
Since setting off the bomb, I haven't seen one fly! Hoping that was the key...
Thanks for your advice everyone!

Just an update.. I managed to see a few stragglers hanging around the house, but the number has definitely diminished. I treated myself to an electrocuting fly swatter. Let me just say, that thing provides endless entertainment. I can't get my gf to let go of it...
