Yup - nine (almost ten) year old Ford truck in MI...
You were expecting otherwise? I'd be happy it lasted that long...

If you want to repair it yourself, grind out the rust to good metal. You can can rivet a piece of metal to the good metal and then use two part plastic filler which has strands of fiberglass hair over top of the metal. Grind it down, sand it and then paint it with a spray bomb of primer and finish paint. This should hold you over for several years.

I would also recommend using Metal Prep on the bare metal before the primer.

Good idea. And primer the back side of the metal repair metal before riveting.

Hey, congrats on having any rocker panels left. Those on my Cherokee are almost completely gone. :heh:
