Another dual monitor question. :)

I thought that unless you change a setting in some program (like Ultramon or something), that all windows would automatically open on your primary display, right? Why do some of mine not?

Like my chat program. It's minimized to my systray. I open it up, it opens correctly. I double click on someone's name to send them a message and their window pops up on the SECONDARY monitor.

I have another app (scheduling app for my tv recording program on my computer) that ALWAYS opens on the secondary display.

HELP please! Is there a setting somewhere I can't find? Or is there a good program to use or something??

Sorry, I couldn't resist throwing that into the most random post. Sorry for hijacking and sorry I don't have a real answer for you. Have you tried reinstalling the program to see if that fixes the problems?

hmm, no, don't think so. I believe it happened on my last install of it as well though, but I will go ahead and try that later. heh

Try this first:
Disable the second monitor.
Open the offending application - it will be forced to go to primary.
Close the application.
Enable the second monitor again.
Start the application again.

Oh, forgot to update the thread. So yesterday, an update to Pidgin (my chat program) came out. I updated. Started it up, and it works on the right monitor now. The other is opening on the correct monitor (probably just because it's on the right, but I'm ok with that. lol).

So... everything is cool now. We'll see what happens in the future. lol
