FT/FS: $225 Toshiba Gift Card

I got a $225 Toshiba FreeCard as part of the infamous floppy drive controller settlement. You can use it like cash for any Toshiba notebook, desktop, or accessories (accessories being memory, hard drives, UPSes, NICs, modems, etc.--lots of brands other than just Toshiba!) at Toshiba's online store, or their online store through Insight or CDW. I would like to trade it for a new Plextor/Yamaha/??? SCSI CD-RW drive. Alternately, I'd just sell it for $150 outright. The card can be combined with other FreeCards, credit cards, etc... it expires 12/12/2001....

This is kinda OT for your sale, but I'm eligible to get one of those since they extended the claim date until 1/29/01 . . . out of curiosity, when did you send in your claim and when did you receive the gift card and cash? (If you were eligible for cash)

I had originally sent in the paperwork back in the summer, then they sent out some kind of followup thing just a couple of weeks ago (like what you got?), and then bango! the card came today...

Did you send it in before the original June 12, 2000 deadline? I missed that deadline since they never contacted me, but then sent mine in after contacting the lawyers handling the case . . . I received a notice a month or two ago that they were extending the deadline, but that was after I had already sent in my claim form. I haven't heard anything since.
