Great slideshow from BusinessWeek magazine (http://images.businessweek.com/ss/07/08/0824_uglycars/index_01.htm?chan=rss_topSlideShows_ssi_5) inspired by a survey done by Hagerty insurance. Hagerty is a well-known collector car insurer.

I agree with all of them except the early Vega. It was a piece of junk but I liked the styling.

What about the Ford Taurus from a decade ago?

I'd LOVE to have a Ford Edsel now..I think it would go great with my 65 New Yorker!

Oh man, what a collection of pigs. The ugly stick must've fallen in the road and they ran it over.

Pontiac Aztek

"There must have been a front-end design team and a rear-end design team. And the two teams NEVER spoke to each other!"

"The only car that can make a Pacer wagon look good."

"It looks like a mini-trash truck."
:heh: As soon as I saw the title, the Aztek was the first thing that came to my mind. But most of the other vehicles in that list are quite deserving as well.

They should put the first model year of the Chevy Avalanche on that list as well. All those plastic body panels made it soooooo UGLY!!! :puke:

YEAH....and in IMO any hybrid vehicle on the road. I like the concept, but do they have to be so damn ugly?

You mean the Avalanche isn't the pickup version of the Aztek?

:stupid: I still hate those things, blech!

I'd also suggest the original Pontiac TransSport van, the giant wedge-shaped one. More blech!

:stupid: If they're going to open the 'foreign ugly car' category, they might as well save some time & just list out the entire lineup of every Citroen ever made:

Not quite.

I thought the Aztec's were hideous too when they came out.

My Dad had both the Covair and Vega (at different times). I don't remember the Covair, but the Vega was a POS (not Point Of Sale).

Wow, I must have weird taste in cars, because, maybe apart from the repair costs, I'd drive the Pacer, the Vega, and a couple of the other cars posted in this thread as well. :bandit:

carmegia....:hmm:

How about Karmann Ghia

http://www.msu.edu/~tomlins4/ghia.gif

I owned a 1970 Ghia. Fun car, but WAY underpowered. It's a rebodied VW Bug for those who aren't familiar. And it wasn't an ugly car.

My choice for ugly car... Caddy Seville

Who dropped an anvil on the back-end of that car?

At least that's not the "C" version of the Chrysler 300. That's the 300H version. :D
