Josh came home the first few days of school and said he liked a little girl in his class named Kirsten.
Guess what he did today? OMG. He wrote her a note (& when he gave it to her, told her to read it at home) saying he loved her. I hope to God she doesn't laugh at him. I said, "Love??" he said, "Well, I couldn't say like or she'd think I meant like a friend."
from my conversation with Chrissy:
Chrissy: you need to teach him "I LIKE YOU like you"
Jenny: *laugh*

Kids are passionate. I have no doubt he loves her. And if she laughs, that will scar him much less than his inaction would have. I give Josh my :thumb:

I remember being his age, in 4th grade... I definitely felt love (4th grade style, of course) for a boy in my class named Eric. *sigh* Had such a big crush. lol

When I was in 4th grade, I had what I like to call now, a stalker..he was in 5th grade and always left notes on my book covers like that..the nuns didn't take kindly to that and used to punish ME severely saying that I needed to stop teasing the boys or I'd end up in hell. They called my father and he gave me the big talk and a pretty hard whack or two as a warning about staying away from boys, and how he'd send my brothers after the kid if he didn't cut it out. I went to school the next day and punched him the face. All the kids laughed at him. He never bothered me again :)

Actually, yes. I was grabbed by my pigtails (from the Cafeteria where the incident took place) by the lunch ladies and dragged to Sr.Regina Marie's office (the horid scary principal who was the size of a huge man with stockings and a whimple)..and I was then punished with the dredded 20 whips to the palms with a ruler followed up by a trip to the "sinners box" which was basically a confessional booth in her office in which the offender(me) sat in for one hour to "think" about what I did while we waited for my parents to get there and bail me out. I thought my dad wouldbe upset by my actions but he wasn't. He had to act pissed in front of the nun and pretend to have the need to punish me severely when we got home..instead, he took me, my brother Giorgio, and my best friend Valerio for Ice Cream to celebrate my freedom from the stalker..lol
Ps..my mom called the Monsignor and told him that if ANYONE at that school, students, nuns or lunch ladies alike EVER touched anyone of her children again, they would pull out their financial assistance to the nuns (this was a time when each nun had a sponsor who donated money for their "personal items" like undergarments, soaps, deodorants etc so that they wouldn't have to spend their meager pay on them)..needless to say, I was never bothered again and actually got to be The Virgin Mary in the Christmas Play that year..LOL

Well, he asked if she read it and she said yes but nothing else. :) They talked like normal the rest of the day, so he wasn't embarrassed or humiliated or anything. I told him she either didn't like him the same way and didn't want to embarrass him or she didn't know what to say yet. Either way was ok.
He agreed and we told him that even if she had liked him too, he is really too young to be boyfriend/girlfriend. So we all talked about how it was ok for him to like a girl but that was as far as it went until he was older, when they could really be boy/girlfriends. :)
