Just saw this Krissy Keefer on GMA (no, I don't watch this regularly :heh: ).

She's whining because the SF Ballet School didn't accept her daughter in one of their programs. The daughter was... to put it bluntly, short and squat! Yeah, that's what we want all out ballet dancers to be like

What's this world coming to? I hate parents who think they're entitled to crap, and then go onto tv to whine about it when they don't get it.

Aside: I thought she was a man when I first saw her. She's even got a little of that 5 o'clock shadow thing going on. :heh:

I hear ya...My wife's an elementary school teacher and gets this kind of crap from parents all the time. "Why did my child get only a B-plus", "So he broke a rule, why can't he go to recess", "my Timmy NEVER does anything wrong". She can't even have a kid sit out a fun activity for discipline problems without a parent bitching about it the next day--they can't (or won't) believe their kid did anything wrong, no matter how trivial. It seems (in the US anyways) that NO ONE wants to be responsible for a damn thing anymore. Now if your kid does something wrong instead of helping them use it as a learning experience or punishing the child, the parent gets all up-in-arms about "This isn't wrong", or "He's entitled to this" or some other BS. By "protecting" their kid's feelings, these parents are only fostering the current attitude of "I'm not responsible for anything I do--if I don't get it I'll sue" :nono:

I'm not saying just 'cause you have a kid you're like this. It just seems there's more and more of these folks out there. I don't have children, but I would like to think I wouldn't do that stuff (we'll see if I can hold true to that!). Maybe it's (very vocal) one percent of parents who are whacked...

Is this just in the US, or is the rest of the planet like this?

Damn straight topane!

Start giving the parents a fine when their kids waste school resources (instructer time, administrator time, etc)by acting out of line. When their wallet gets hit, they will straighten out that kid fast.

I've got an entitlement for all the people that think they should get everything they want for nothing, my foot up their a$$!

I think it's a problem with respect. Our culture in the US doesn't teach respect for anyone anymore. I remember being scared whenever I was called in the principal's office and when I had to tell my parents what I did wrong, they punished me accordingly. Now parents bitch at the schools, as if punishment of their child "dishonors" them. People don't have respect for others' experience, jobs, etc. <sigh>

People in Asia seem to respect, nay revere those in the education "business". Its both good and bad, but at least there won't be idiots like that he-she on GMA. :)

Some parents just make me want to laugh. They think just because this "crotch dropping" came from them it is so special. Christ, if I have to hear one more of my brain dead friends or coworkers talk about how advanced/special their kid is I will vomit.

People should have to be licensed before they can reproduce.

Most of these parents qualify for the Darwin awards! I'm glad that my parents never did that to me! And most of this happens in the east coast...not the west!!!

Yes they should but since we can't even stop retards from reproducing it's probably not going to happen..

People (most anyway) think less about how they are going to raise their offspring than they do about what car they will buy. It is just another item on their checklist, so they do it without thinking. Marriage, house, dog, kid....

The thought of having a kid makes me break out in a cold sweat. I have never wanted them, for my 30th birthday my husband got a vasectomy and bought me a Rolex. Much better than a little poop and drool factory.

Loveline. You gotta love Adam Carrolla, he's always ranting about how only the stupid people reproduce early and often.
