My wife just told me she went to KOHL'S yesterday looking for a outfit and they had Christmas trees out on display forsale. Now this to me is really pushing the holiday season a bit. Right after Halloween I can see it (don't like it but can understand it.)

I'm with obby. Hell, I still have red garland strung up on the ceiling from last year. Guess I've been too lazy to take down. But it's one less deco that I need to worry about this year. :D
Eh, way too early. Christmas is an amazing time of the year but the mood doesn't really hit me until i'm wearing a heavy coat and the air is cool.

I think retailers should sell it whenever people would buy it. But for me personally, it has to be at least Thanksgiving before I start thinking about Christmas. Year-round is nuts IMO, there has to be a lot of non-Christmas time in order for the true Christmastime to be something special. If you had a birthday every day, then it wouldn't mean anything. That's what makes the change of the seasons we get in the Northeast so cool... every few months we get entirely new weather. They're all special, but only in relation to each other. Everything is relative. Happy only means something if you know what sad is. Black defines white, hot defines cold. Without bad there is no good. Without non-Christmas there is no Christmas.

It would if each day came with a gift. :D

My wife has already started shopping.
I won't even think about saving money for winter solstice until Thanksgiving.

After thanksgiving *only*. We have already started receiving catalogs for christmas stuff. I think that the main issue for me is that it is the *commercial* aspect of it that gets kicked off earlier and earlier every year, and that is the worst part of an otherwise happy holiday season.

When I worked at WM *sigh*, we would set Halloween and Christmas in the same week. Halloween first then when it was done, we rolled into Christmas.
I dunno. I love Christmas, but anymore, Thanksgiving is turning into the feast before the festivities.

Eh, Christmas early may be forgivable, but Halloween, no. Some neighbors down the street from us have had pumpkins strewn across the lawn for 2 weeks now.

Linens N Things already has their Christmas displays AND music in the store. I had to double check the month. I really wasn't sure. It seems way too early.

Shopping is ok. I "Shop" for Christmas all year long. Trying to get really good present ideas in a crnuch is way too hard.
