Hey, there used to be a link on the deals page for three or four computer books for really cheap, with the obligation of buying one more later. Could anyone provide me with the link, either here or email at [email protected] ? I'd check it myself, but the new design doesn't like Netscape I guess :P Thanks...

Try this one: http://www.booksonline.com/bookclubs/bol/tiolis.htm.

I've been a member of these book clubs on and off for the past 15 years, and they usually always have great deals, especially if you get a friend to sign up, then you get like 3 free books (but you pay shipping on each). I've also signed myself up and gotten the 3 free, plus the 3 intro books for $2 + shipping each. Then I usually buy a regular priced book in the $15 - $25 dollar range and cancel.

One bit of advice w/computer books though - they don't always tell you the name of the publisher in the catalogs in the mail. I try and stick with the well known publishers, ie - Sybex, Sams, MS Press, New Riders, O'reilly, etc..., and check the publish date. Sometimes they have outdated books. I recently purchased a book through them on Win2K Active Directory, published by Wiley, and I saw so many errors before page 10 that I threw it away!

The link you provided doesn't seem to work with me. :(

Reyarp: Thanks a lot! That was exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate you taking the time to write it down.

Dodo: When you click on the link, it adds an extra period to the end of the URL. Click on the Address bar and remove it, and it should work.

I've ordered hundreds of dollars of books over the last 3 yrs there. Best deals, unless you have a coupon for BN.com or Amazon
