I need some ideas on a baptism gift for my soon-to-be godson. I definitely want to get something to hold a little bit of his baptismal holy water as a keepsake. Any other bigger ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am definitely looking for something long lasting. I even considered a very nice gold cross and chain that they could wear once he gets older.
Thanks! :wavey2:
Edit: Woo-hoo this is number 5000! A good 5000th post if I do say so myself! :)

Savings bond or something like that? That he can cash when he gets ready for college or for a new car or whatever.

Yes, a Savings bond is a good idea. Some families like gold braclets (ID type bracelets), other gifts are personalized frames (stay away from silver unless you want to go polish it for the family weekly :) ), or a cross for the child's room.

Thanks!!
I thought about the savings bond but the financial side of me said that is a bad investment. :) Maybe some stock certificates from Disney or something. I was hoping to get him something, like the cross, that would kind of go hand and hand with the baptism.

The cross is always a good idea. But make sure it's not one of those baby crosses..make it one he can wear when he gets older. I'd definately go with something like the Disney thing ..that's cool!
