Beware when you have a factory limited warranties on anything. I just had to have a new pressure switch for my A.O.Smith power vent gas water heater.
I paid a ton for this unit $600.00 new in 2005. It came with a 6 year limited warranty I never read before buying. like most i dont read warrantys before i buy a product .i know it had 6 years that seem good to me .
well here is the sucky part .
1ST i have to buy the part .(factory wont supply it or order service repairman )glad im a contractor or been out a service call fee to .
2nd install the replacement part $85.00 out of my pocket cost.
3RD wait till my suppler is credited for my return defective part. (told this will take a while per my parts supplyer )
4th being charged $20 for my supplyer to handle the return and paperwork for the defective part.
i needed the hot water asap and still cheaper then replacing with a new unit .also i removed the chimmney so i have to have a power vent high efficiency unit .
