Awesome price for this fully HD 1920x1080p plasma TV. So why not LCD? They seem to be popular. A lot of people think LCDs are better because they supposedly have no burn-in, but the latest plasma screens are quite resistent to burn-in, so that's pretty much a myth now. Also, plasmas still have superior contrast and color reproduction to LCDs, not to mention the superior viewing angles.
