I have an mp3 player that's several years old, and no drivers for it. Windows recognizes it, but cannot read it without drivers. There is no brand name on the player. Any ideas?

Can you post a picture of it?

ok, it appears to be identical to this one, except silver with no brand name printed on it. it could just be repackaged, or the ones on this like may be as well.

Well, Nate found a model number that traced it down to this item (http://www.mercurystyle.com/specs-ixa2.php?lang=english&alias=325i). However, my conclusion is that the player has taken a firmware dump, and the company doesn't have any firmware posted for the item. When I install whatever "drivers" the company has for the player, Windows only identifies it as a "USB 2.0 (FS) ADFU device" but will never provide any access to the files. From what I gather, that specification corresponds to a device that needs firmware.
