During World War II, the P-51 Mustang was hailed as a savior of aviation and certainly played a major part in ending the conflict. This long range fighter escorted Allied bombers over Europe and Hermann Goering, the head of Germany's Luftwaffe, summarized the plane's role by stating, "The day I saw P-51 Mustangs flying over Berlin, I knew the jig was up."

Today, at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the jig is up for the rest of the Ford Mustang tuners as ROUSH Performance unveiled the P-51A Mustang automobile (http://www.worldcarfans.com/9071030.016/roush-p-51a-mustang-debut-at-sema)which, at 510 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque, is sure to be held in as high a regard as the airplane has been in the history books and will help to save the streets from the invasion of the foreign brands.

Kick@$$!

I believe in function over form. If the wheels save weight by being plain, all the better.

Not every ... but many of them :) (I did a search and in fact I don't comment in every one of them.)

They've earned my ire. :D

Nice ride even though I'm not a Mustang fan.

I don't believe that fuel mileage is any concern to a 510 HP car. And styling has nothing to do with function.

I think he meant saving weight to boost performance, not mileage.

It's a nice looking car and I certainly wouldn't turn down a chance to take it for a spin, but putting the HP rating on the hood? Really? :disa: That seems so... insecure.

Plus, I'm going to have to side with DF on his opinion of Ford. They're REALLY going to have to step it up to remain competitive.

Nice, except for the boring wheels.

I personally like the wheels a lot. The 5 spoke aluminum alloy wheel is a classy looking wheel.
