I tried to enter the word "liquor." It says invalid word. Why is that?

What's a "Nodie"?

Liquor is right, but in creating that word you have to make sure all the other words involved are real words too.

i see. how a bout that word "piano" on the bottom left? That was the last word that the other player entered. So you can start a new word without using an existing letter as long as it is adjacent to existing letters? Or was it possible because "hon" is a word?

What kind of word is "Ti" also?

That's what i'm saying. How is it that the word piano was a valid entry?

Yes you can start a new word without using existing letters so long as the adjacent letters form a word.

And "Ti" is a word of some sort. Scrabble has an official dictionary with a list of 2 letter words.

So in the case of the word, "piano," it was valid because "ti," "sha," and "hon" are all words in some dictionary?
That means that "piano" was a brilliant move....no wonder i'm losing to this girl.

yes i'm playing scrabulous and I've never played scrabble, so all my friends are wondering why I have the vocab level of a 5-year-old.

I'm good at 10 letter words only worth 8 points.

Chi on the other hand pulled off a 42 point word... The word... Ax...

So yes, its all about playing words that create new words in both directions. You get credit for all the words as if you just laid them all down, but the cost is , they must all be words. You friend did well with piano.

Woohoo, I didn't realize you guys were playing Scrabulous. Count me in!

Also, in reference to TI, basically all the notes of a musical octave are acceptable: DO, RE, MI, FA, SO, LA, and TI. Plus, I actually didn't discover this until just yesterday, but if you look right above where both your names appear, there are a number of buttons you can click for all kinds of hints, including a two-letter word list and a dictionary lookup function. Scrabulous is apparently based on two dictionaries, and there are a LOT of acceptable words you never would have thought of. ;)

Seriously. Chi pulls out some random high scoring words. Maarchk is good.
Me, I have a decent vocabulary that seems to disappear when it would be helpful.

In Scrabulous you can see a list of all the 2 letter words. Ti is a valid one.

You cannot play Scrabble without knowing about the scrabble dictionary... they have MANY words in their dictionary that you would never know... (EF - Is defined as the letter F).

They have the Scrabble dictionary online at the following link:

http://www.hasbro.com/games/adult-games/scrabble/home.cfm?page=Dictionary/dict

Here's why PIANO was allowed:
- TI (TIS) - The seventh tone of the diatonic musical scale
- SHA - Used to urge silence
- HON (HONS) - A honeybun

Here's why LIQUOR wasn't allowed:
- Could not find any results for nodie
