so my lease is terminating on the 9th of this month and i had to get something.... for the price, feature, power combination that i wanted i couldn't find anything other than a 2008 G35X white pearl with stone interior, premium package and navigation.

picking it up on friday, could have picked it up today but decided to run out the miles on my current lease. out of the 45,000 allowed i have 400 miles left... i'm sure i'll kill em in 4 days

I never understood the whole idea of leasing..it seems like you're paying for nothing. I pay for my cars, then beat the hell out of them until they are begging to be sold off to some kid with his piggy bank stealin's. :)

I would never lease either, but I do understand the reasoning. Some people place a higher value in having a new vehicle every 2-3 years. Leasing gives them a known, fixed payment that's usually less than a car payment, and it takes out the risk of dealing with the depreciation when they're ready to switch. E.g., I don't know what kind of lease terms Hyundai runs, but the dealerships must be taking it in the shorts on the lease returns.

Some people like to always own the latest and the greatest and don't deal with the hassle of selling cars. It's also nice because your car is always under warranty. Also there is a sales tax advantage (I think) to leasing.

Honestly, leasing is for folks who aren't "easily satisfied" by their vehicles.

Some folks need a new pair of shoes every 3 to 6 months, and some can go years with the same pair(s). Go figure...

Probably just because of where I live, but leasing is cheaper than buying here in the 'ol Motor city. I usually lease one car (my drive to work car) & buy one for high mileage (the minivan that goes everywhere).
