I have finally caved and joined my s-i-l in playing WoW. Basically he suckered me in to his guild with a bribe that he would saw down my Christmas trees for me this year. I'm a newb and have only got on the game twice for about 20 minutes to get the hang of things. I have a cool name. VIPERCON. And so far I killed all the orange wart hog thingies,and the wolves, but the purple spiders are on my ass like a cheap suit. Mind you, he, his brothers, sisters, and parents are all at level 70..how fair is that?

Just like Heroin, it's fun when you start then the addiction sets in and its hard to break away. Once you get to a certain point though it's either death or no more WoW. I chose to quit WoW!

I never started in on WoW because I saw how addicted some friends of mine were to the game and frankly was sick of their nonstop lunch banter about the game. Come to think of it, I don't eat lunch with them anymore either. :hihi:

I'm not sure to be honest, he said..sit here, do this, do that, pick a name, and move the mouse..then he showed me how to shoot, collect the stuff off the dead guys and just the basics..I'll find out when he comes back into town this weekend and let you know. And yes, his family is a family FULL of geeks. And the weird part is..they all make arrangements to be online at the same time! lol
I'll get all of this sooner or later. Right now there is a patch going through from Blizzard that has something to do with Guild Banks etc.As soon as it's through I'm going to play for a while.

I'm up to level 4 now, but I'm stuck in a market behind a bunch of boxes and I can't figure out how to get out of it. I can't move in any direction! Don't forget, with out the S-I-L around tonight I have pretty much got to this level on my own! Got any ideas? also...how do you sell /trade to the people in the markets. My backpack is full!

Actually, my daughter came over after her shift at the hospital because S-I-L is working out of town this week, and she needed help getting her Blackberry set up. LOL...she's a nurse but can't set up a phone! that cracks me up. After we had a pot of coffee, I was still awake, so I decided to keep playing...

To sell stuff you have to go to someone who is a merchant. Under their name it will say <General Goods Merchant> or <Blacksmith Supplies>. When you speak to them a window will open and your bag(s) should also open. Anything you want to sell you can right click on, and it will sell it for you and give you the money (usually a few copper at your level).

If you can't get out from behind the boxes you may try jumping (default 'Spacebar')

That's ok. As long as the merchant's window opens up and you see "buyable" goods, you should be able to open you bags (I believe it's Alt+B or Shift+B)

This is for a little later but you should be able to repair your equipment (every time you die, you take a 10% durability loss to all your equipment).

Make sure you pick up First Aid also. It will be about 1s. If you have Cooking, you may also want to invest in Fishing as you can level them up at roughly the same pace.

I have first aid too! But I thought it was cool that I got cooking..lol :) as naturally I'd want Vipercon to cook!
Thanks for all the tips/hints..I'm doing ok so far. Oh, and I found a merchant and sold off alot of crap I didn't want too!

Actually, it's gotten a whole lot easier with the most recent update. Just consider yourself lucky, especially on the grind from level 1-60. Once you get to 60, getting to 70 is supereasy.

I've been between lvl 60-70 for longer than 1-60 pre-patch.

I hate leveling.
