First time in a long time

Well today I had my first first date in like 7 and a half years. Why so long? Well I was in a long term relationship. It ended just before July a week before my birthday, she broke off engagement and yes I got the ring back.... great huh? Well after 4 months I figured it was time and I had a blind date with a girl I met online. It was a great experience. We made plans to meet again for a second date. But I was surprised I still had some game. I thought after 7 years I'd be rusty..... I was really nervous today too.... well just thought I'd share, I am normally more private about this type of stuff and only tend to post big events. I think this is one :)

That is correct Jenny. I was with my ex for 7.5 years. It ended somewhere around the last week of June 07. And I just started dating again.... it's been rough, but part of my healing process was realizing that it wasn't so much NOT being with my ex that was making me hurt, it was not having that feeling. Once I realized that the feeling didn't have to be connected to a specific person I started to get over her and quicker. Because obviously she was not going to make me happy, and there will be someone else who can give me that same feeling. So now I'm back in the ring ready to go a few round. :)

Your breakup was similar to mine only my ex left me on my birthday and I didn't get the ring back. I also spent several thousand on the wedding that didn't happen. But I'm glad it didn't. She really was kind of a b****. And my 3 nieces keep me well occupied. :)

glad your over the humpand dating again. man if the wife and I were to break up ( after 27 years now and 4 years of dating ) it really scare the s**t out of me. with all the stuff i hear about now adays to worry about .( aids and others ) i have heard its even a big problem in the older community :( im not worryed about us breaking up but dam it would suck.
anyway glad for you to hear your getting on with your life.

I had my first First date in 6 1/2 years 3 weeks ago. And it went amazing. Its the season of come backs!!!

So we had made plans to meet this weekend for a movie. However I got an email and we had our second date yesterday. Another amazing date. We still have plans for this weekend. But this date went so well I decided to get some some flowers. So I went with 3 roses (only two dates) in a simple vase and had it delivered to her work place. This surprised her as she had only mentioned where she works in passing once to me and to a few associates of hers. She loved them and she called me for the first time tonight. I had given her my cell but she hadn't called me, even though we met twice, until now. I am super happy :)
