Xbox 360 Question

Easy question I'm sure, but I can't find confirmation. From what I can find, the xbox controllers are 2.4 ghz, right? So, I would take this to mean that line of sight to the console is not required. Is that correct?

Also, assuming that is correct, is the same true of the xbox hd dvd player remote?

Line of sight is not required for the 360, but I'm not sure about the remote...

It is true for the controllers, but not for the HD DVD player remote.

The remote for the HD DVD player uses infrared.

You can, however, control the dvd player with a 360 controller.

Thanks guys. I was hoping to be able to tuck the thing away, but since I have the HD-DVD player, guess I won't be doing that.

Seems odd that they wouldn't make that wireless too. Oh well.
