NSS: i won FREE tickets to see CAKE!

I get to see CAKE in their Unlimited Sunshine tour FOR FREE SATURDAY!
WOOHOO!!!!
I thought about BUYING seats when they first went on sale, but i didnt have any $$$. so i thought i would just leave it at that.
Last week, I tuned in to an online streamed radio station and wouldnt you know it, they were announcing the next song was by Cake and theyre giving away 2 tickets to the first person who emails them about it.

i decided to just do that, and the DJ responded back that i got em! YAY!

i got them tuesday in the mail, and sure enough, theyre comp tickets. theyre not the best seats, but hey! theyre free! worth about $90 for the two.

Oh, thanks Guru. I guess I'm out of the loop on music groups these days. I really like most genres, few rap though, but I find myself listening primarily to country.

AWESOME SHOW!
Cake came on, and we (meaning maybe a hundred of us) bum rushed near the stage - no one restrained us or yelled at us to get back to our seats. HA HA! i got to get closer from the start of the show - it was GREAT!

The opening band Brazilian Girls were a spectacle to behold too. With songs like "Pussy" or "Sexy @sshole" you'd want to take a listen. But beyond the "shock value" and novelty of their song titles, the band was actually very good. Very distinct sound. They even had the whole stage filled with people at their last song - great to see people "TRY" to dance. ha ha!

Fashion Nugget is one of my most frequently played CDs. "She's got a silk dress and healthy breasts that bounce on his Italian leather sofa" has got to be one of my favorite lyrics of all time due to the image it conjures in my head. :gle: :drool:

I just did a roadtrip from Seattle to San Francisco and played Fashion Nugget during the drive. I thought about you, redcolours, and about how envious I was that I couldn't have gone to the show and seen it live.

And Kevster, I have this really crazy and overprotective older sister and she heard the lyrics to Race Car Ya-yas and flipped out. I had to convince her that she heard the lyrics wrong and it was really "fuzzy dice that still hang proudly like tentacles in rear-view mirrors" otherwise she would've taken my cd away from me...hehe.
