Anyone know if Amazon has a telephone number where I can reach customer service? I haven't received a shipment that they said would be here before Christmas.
Does anyone think that this such crap that a huge internet retailer like Amazon doesn't have a 800 number when practically every other internet retailer has one?

Here ya go: 800-201-7575
buy.com: 800-880-1030.
If you do a search on the forums for "Amazon CS phone number", I know there was a thread dedicated to all sorts of different, useful CS numbers. Hope you get your order, that's very unlike Amazon to fuck up the shipping...

Thanks,
They said they would next day air the shipment although they said it would be by the end of the week before they could ship it out. Not quite sure why it'll take them 3 days to ship out, but whatever, now that x-mas has come and gone, I guess it really doesn't matter.
I was a bit surprised at how casual they were about resending my shipment. I ordered a DVD player, and they just immediately said they would ship out another one. So basically, there's a $200 DVD player floating out there somewhere, lost in the mail. That I do have to credit Amazon for meeting the customer's needs first. Still don't understand why they don't advertise their 800 number.

that's exactly why they don't advertise their 800 number. they have awesome customer service, and the CSRs are instructed to do anything to keep the customer happy...so they don't want everyone with any problem to come to them. They want you to have to jump through a few hoops and hopefully give up before you get through to them. That way they don't get CS complaints becaues everyone who makes it through is really happy. I've asked CSRs to just e-mail me a GC, and the CSR said ok and sent me a $20 GC like a minute later; I was really stoked (she had a cute voice too, heh heh). But I've heard a few stories about lost shipments and quick problem-free resends from amazon.com (i had to do it once), and in every single case, the original package arrived a day or two after the new overnighted product...which would be really cool for you. Their CS rules...once you contact them.

i had a problem with a shipment a few weeks ago, and i too went through hell trying to find the phone number to call them. so i emailed them, and by the time they got back in touch with me it was too late to fix my problem... so the CSR sent me a $10 GC which hotmail so graciously deleted for me... but that is another story.
after all my complaints thought, i was quite pleased with the service.
