I've got some huge MP3 files(between 100-180 minutes). Any idea which program I could use to dissect the file into 2-3 pieces(so I could burn them for my car)? Oh, and where I could find a nice hack would be nice, also ;). Thanks in advance.

One solution could be to convert it to a wave, then use any wave editor program to chop it up into separate files, then compress the 2 or 3 files back to mp3 format.

I believe Sound Forge 4.5d or the latest has built in mp3 support or you can download a plug-in that allows you to edit the mp3 directly. Then you can just chop out the sections you want and save them as separate mp3s. Good luck.

Is there anything available that is smaller than SoundForge? I too would like to cut up my mp3's into smaller chunks but don't need all the bells and whistles that a full blown sound editor like SoundForge offers.
Check out MP3 Trackmaker from http://www.heathcosoft.com
It's freeware, pretty small, and it will do the trick.
