I'm looking to get a range hood for my kitchen and currently I am looking at the Bosch. I live in an apartment so I can't exhaust the air out so I need to get the recirculation model. Not a biggie. I'll do the charcoal filter crap, My question is that there is a model that goes up to 400 cfm and a cheaper one that goes to 280 cfm. The price difference is rather large. The cheaper one is $298 and the 400cfm one is $439. What do you think? Do I need to splurge and get the one that really sucks?:wavey2:

Not a lot of frying. I like to put a steak on the frying pan every now and then or half a chicken breast. My kitchen is large.

large is how large ?
12x14 or way larger ?
also from what your telling me so far i just do the smaller unit.
but there is a way to find out what one is right for you go to the bosch web site and look up the units they should have way to calculate to find the right unit ! from what i just looked at the smallest is 400 cfm and that should work for any apartment unless your a donald trump type pocket book !

unless your looking at a under the cabinet mount unit .then its by stove with .if your stove is 30 inch wide use a 30 inch wide vent unit .if its a 36 inch wide stove use a 36 inch wide vent unit .i still only get the 280 cfm unit .

Steak in a frying pan??? You're talking about an underblade or 7-bone, right? Not a prime cut I hope.
