Xbox 360 COD4

Anyone playing it? Rented it awhile back and loved it, so just picked it up today.

If there's a few of us maybe we can get a G|A game going some day. Of course, I still suck pretty bad.

I have the PC version and I finished the single player. Great, great game. It's a shooter on rails, but its story and gameplay is stunning.

I have it, but I haven't had the time to play it. My friend, however, got to level 55. He then went for the prestige icon, and got it reset back to level 1 and is now also back to level 55. :|

I've been pretending my xbox360 controller acts like my wii controller, so i'm standing up while i play jumping from side to side and flailing my arms thinking that will make me better.

Of course i trip on a table and end up hurting myself, and i still suck at cod4. :|

As addicted as I get to games like that, I did buy it when Amazon had it for $40 right before Xmas. When I get on XBOXLIVE I'll let you know.

I get double digit kills regularly now, I still choose the red dot over the scope on my M16.

Yeah it does seem that accuracy is a lot higher with the dot. I haven't earned a scope yet.

Just got the ACOG scope on the miniuzi, very effective weapon for Wet Work and the other close combat board. The scope really helps your accuracy with this one.

The new "Broadcast" board is a deathtrap. There are so many places to hide and shoot it's ridiculous.

"Creek" is bigger than "Overgrown".

I guess it's worth the $10/800 points.

I bought the new ones the only one I haven't played was the training facility. Chinatown seemed like more of a death trap than broadcast once you were able to take a high position over the spawn points.

I stand corrected. The training facility is death reinvented. I haven't had a free for all match last more than 3 or 4 minutes in that place.

i haven't played in about a month. school this quarter has been pretty rough on the reading. It's not difficult, just time consuming.

The red dot sight helps a lot, but I can't seem to rotate quick enough to actually point someone behind me...

Now that I've finally gotten a 360, I plan to pick up COD4 in the next couple of days.

One question though -- is this like Battlefield 2 where the "newbies" barely stand a chance because we don't have all the fancy weapons and such that the more experienced veterans do?

Not really. For a couple of reasons:

1) The game tries to match you up with people around your same rank. So you should be playing people with a similar level of skill.

2) Frankly, the advanced weapons aren't always the best ones.

Haha, I've played enough FPS titles to know NOT to do that! I just haven't played CoD4 yet. :)

I've found that in COD4 it's not the weapons that make you better it's knowledge of the maps that you are playing on.

Some of these guys know every nook and cranny to hide in and wait for a kill.

The only weapon that you have to be REALLY good at to use is the sniper rifle. It's not so easy to hit a moving target.

if you've played fps games before, COD4 is all about getting used to aiming! Doesn't matter what gun, it's all about the extra button you need to press to aim.

Once i got the hang of it, I got a little bit better. But i still suck compared to the people i play online.

I snipe better with the M4 or M16 with the red dot, but on "Creek" I go with the ACOG for the extra distance.

I earned the red tiger camo for the M4 (150 headshots) and am close with the M16.

Working my way through the single-player campaign -- and am having a heck of a time with securing the tank (mission 3).

Obviously I'm not even close to being ready for multiplayer! :)

That's kinda what I thought, but honestly, I'd just get on and play. I found I learned way quicker in multiplayer.
