Good graphic on the problems to expect from wearing high heels.

oh...that's nothing new to me. My chiropractor has now asked that I only wear heels when necessary because my knees and ankles are shot and it's messed with my alignment. I don't think I help the matter because I sit crossed legged a lot and that pops my hip out as well. So ladies, no more sitting crossed legged either...cause your hip can pop out like mine does!

I didn't watch. I'm scared too. I wear healls ALL THE TIME. I even have those little wedge shoes that look like Converse, just so I don't have to wear tennis shoes. My feet actually ache when I'm in bare feet or flats for too long. The number one part of training for the 3-day is going to be my body getting used to walking in something other than heels.

Stuff like this makes me glad I'm a guy...
Yes, high heels do make women look "taller and fashionable"... but honestly, is it worth it? If you look good... you gonna look good regardless.
Now with that being said... cue MC Hammer...
"Pumps and a bump.... Pumps and a bump... we like the girls with the pumps and the bump. :wow: :heh:

Stuff like this makes me glad I'm a guy...Pretty much, the only thing I can really say with assurance on this.
I like that women look good with heels, but I'm perfectly happy when women don't hurt themselves - and if it's that bad, eh, not worth it.

Honestly, a pretty girl is gonna look pretty regardless.
Some of those REALLY tall heels look like killers... /me cringes at the sight of 5+ inch heels.
They don't hurt when she's on her back.

I'd go to a foot doc and get their best opinion on what to do so you don't develop plantar fasciitis or something similar. This happened to my sister 2 years ago when she walked. Not good!

Problem solved. Think of all that money wasted on research when they could have just asked you!

Not a bad idea. I need to go anyway because I DO have trouble occasionally with my achilles tendon feeling like it's going to pop...I'm sure that's due to the heel wearing.
And DF...it's really not about being "pretty" or sexy for that matter, at least not for me. I'm short. 5'1", hubby is 6 foot. Heels make me feel more comfortable when standing next to him...over the years, I just got used to it. I mean, I KNOW I'm cute without them, but with them, I'm cute AND an average height :)

Layla, I am 5'1" - but only on a good day when the gravitational pull is just right between the earth and the moon.
I wear heals when we go out- sometimes. And they are 5" heels (they look like mary janes), but not because of the platform on the ball of the shoe. Donnie isn't 6', but I am quite shorter than he is.
As far as the walk - go to a doc soon. Because if they fit you with an insert or recommend a special shoe, you will want to train as much as you can in them.

I was a fan of heels and still am, except I mostly choose wedged heels and/or platform shoes (what's the difference?) I feel having a little height makes me look leaner (i hope!) Wearing skinny heels do hurt and I try to avoid it as much as possible. I mostly wear those to weddings and formal events which I don't attend frequently. As I get older, it's all about comfort for me (mind you I'm not geriatric! not that there's anything wrong with that :)

I don't do heels and this is just more reason not too. I didn't even wear heels when I got married. I wore flats. But then again I was 7 months preggo and heels just would not have been good. I can't walk in them at all. I about break my ankle. I don't know how you other women could torture yourselves long enough to get used to that kind of torture. But that is me.
