Well, I guess it's time to hang up the trusty Logitech G5 that I've so gloriously fragged many a player with... there's a new sheriff in town and he's slangin' a Logitech G9...

Personally, I'm using the "precision grip" (the one on the right up there).

Man this mouse is slick! Definitely more accurate than the G5 it is replacing. Honestly, I wasn't even looking for a new mouse.. except for the fact that the right button on my main G5 started having problems (I had a backup G5 that I use with my laptop that I was using in the meantime while I RMA'ed the original one for replacement), but then I saw that Mwave.com was having a sale on the G9 and I couldn't resist (Last week, Mwave was selling the G9 for $59.97 + $10 MIR... so I just couldn't pas that deal up. Looking yesterday, they have raised the price to $69.97 + $10 MIR... still a pretty good deal considering the $99 MSRP as listed by Logitech.

What I'm really liking about this mouse is the fact that it has "onboard software" to store my gaming profiles and custom button macros. This means that I can take this mouse to another computer and it will remember my settings without having to install any other software. WOOT!!!!

BTW.. they say that they will have some new "aftermarket" grips available for the G9. Has anyone seen anything on these? The precision grip is pretty good, but I wondered if there were any better ones out there? Overall, I'd give this mouse some pretty high marks as far as functionality and looks, and I'm sure that some of my UT3 opponents have noticed that they are getting their heads handed to the much more readily now. :D

UNSTOPPABLE!!!! :D

Is the surface rubberized?

Is the surface rubberized?
Only on the wide body grip...

The precision grip has more of a textured/rough surface feel.

I don't care for the looks of the mouse, but perhaps the pictures really exaggerate things.

Still happy with my MX Revolution mouse though, so I probably won't switch either way at the present time.

If you ever get a chance, just give one a try.

The "feel" works great for gaming (I'm a fingertip/claw grip gamer) Seriously, I loved my G5, but there's no going back to it now. :D

I just got this guy;

I have been eyeing for a long time.

It is a wireless bluetooth mouse that hides/charges in our PCMCIA port. It also is a presenter! Great little device if you travel alot like I have been recently.
