You can try Ray's uploader. I haven't tried it myself but other people have used it on this board and it seemed to work fine for them. That and Ray's a pretty reliable member of this community.

Now that's a BIG picture. :eye: :wow:

Obby, we gonna have to introduce you to some software to resize your pics.

Just use picasa. Then you'd also have a web album with a gig of space that you can upload to from the program. Super simple.

Are they scumbags just because of the coke machine?

I remember you mentioning this machine before, but I can't recall, have you asked them to turn it off or cover it up or something at night?

When did Obby say that it was loaded with beer? Was that in a previous discussion?

Obby, if the machine bothers you enough you can make a complaint anyway, the machine is commercial equipment and you aren't in a commercial zone. Wouldn't that be grounds for a complaint. Not to mention you could say this neighbor was using this to generate income and use other zoning/license laws. Just a thought.

Is the Coke machine like a cool thing to have that he just bought for fun or is it a real, money-accepting, money-making machine that gets serviced by a Coke employee regularly (like a Coke machine at Walmart?)

It's not loaded with beer..but with soda, that he buys in PA, where it doesn't cost him half as much as it would in NY. He charges 60 cents a can. I can't tell you how many times myself and other neighbors have called code enforcement on him..but they won't do anything about it. I also forgot to mention that a few years back he purchased a big trampoline for a few of his kids, and let the kids sleep on it at night..which all in all is not bad except for the fact that they ran an extention cord on a t.v. and brought that outside as well. When it started to rain in the middle of the night, the kids went to bring the tv inside and dropped it....DUH.

Please don't tell me this is his only source of income.

Yeah, this guy sounds classy.

apparently, he got the coke machine from the local scrap metal guy..(paid the guy 20 bucks for it) the scrap guy didn't want it because of the refrigeration that is in it and the fact that he couldn't get the back open to drain it. (according to my neighbor)..so he hauled it home in his p.o.s truck (which is in the picture on the left hand side in the driveway) and proceeded to beat the thing with a crowbar till it opened. (I witnessed that and enjoyed the show)..I dont know how he rigged it but he did get it opened and supposedly it works good now that he played around with it. Since I don't partake of the liquid refreshment that comes from it..I wouldn't really know for sure. And yes, it is a real money accepting, change dispensing machine that he fills himself (and gets more money off people by putting soda in wrongly labeled spots inside (coke in the diet coke slot, root beer in the sprite spot etc)..he buys what he can in PA and fills the machine..you get what it dispenses apparently.

Obby, if you and your neighbors want to get this resolved, get the local press involved. Nothing gets the local code enforcement going more than reporters asking questions and an embarrassing newspaper article about a blatant violation like this. $@!* rolls downhill, and I'm sure it'd hit the local code enforcement folks in a hurry from higher up.

If you have already done this to no effect, then *never mind*, otherwise start contacting media about this moron.

I've heard they are prone to tipping. :shifty: You don't have sons if they ask.

(I can't see the picture though)

Yeah - get an "investigative reporter" to point out that the city is ignoring reports of an unlicensed vending machine, as well as (I'm sure) the failure to pay sales tax, etc.

Yeah, I agree with Kevster and Markel. Get the other neighbors involved if this bugs them as well.

If that don't work I hear Nija has an idea. ;) :D

Those older machines suck some serious voltage. I had a new model at my auto shop in San Diego and my elec. bill rose $40 a month.

This neighbor of yours wouldn't bear any resemblance to Randy, Earl Hickey's brother, would he?

haha No! but he does have a bald head, (top only) bushy yet stringy hair on the sides, and a very full unkempt beard and mustache. And when he sees anyone he stares at them like he's hearing voices in his head..he gives me the heebee jeebies!

Too funny! I just finished watching an episode of that too. :)
