never been used. THey sent me like 5 of them with my dsl modem.
DOn't need this one.

hey I have the same NIC anyhow..I am trying to network up 2 computers but does both need to have the same NIC to work with my stupid PACBELL DSL? I also have a LINKSYS router that comes with 2 NIC what you think is the best way to set up? anyword would be a great help! thank you!

alright... i did this a couple of months ago..
you don't need the same NICs.. that makes no difference..
what you need to do is this... put one nic in each computer...
then.. connect your DSL modem to the LInksys router.... and the router to the computers...
if you have the ONE port router.. you'll need to connect that to a hub.. and the hub to th ecomputers....
then.. you need to configure your LINKSYS router for PPPoE..
you should upgrade your firmware for this... to the latest version...
all you REALLY need to do is enable the DHCP client for the router... and the PPPoE for the router....
then just put in your login & password.....
and that is it.. give it like 5 minutes or something to kick in... and check in the STATUS bar to see if you are connected...
you may need to manually connect and disconnect a couple of times to get it right..
