Where can I get the best price/quality/compatibility for my memory upgrade? Upgrading a Dell Dimension 8400.

I found Crucial to be very competitive and they have a good system scanner to verify I get the correct memory.

Thoughts? Links to coupons? thx

Honestly, I'd go with Crucial memory as well.

To get the best price, first use their memory compatibility configurator to find out which memory they are recommending for your unit.

Next, go out on the internet (I usually can find Crucial memory at Newegg.com) and search for the best price on that particular model number of the Crucial memory.

You can also use Pricegrabber.com to search for the best price on the model number as well.

Good luck on your search.

thanks for the reply.

I ended up using the crucial configurator to verify the exact memory I needed. Then, through work, I get a 10% off at geeks.com. So I went there and found some Micron Tech memory, exact specs and saved $5 total. (10% basically, worthwhile).

thx

thanks. I was amazed at how inexpensive memory upgrades had become, at least for this computer.

I have a 6 year old Dimension 8200 that must have some special memory as a 1gb upgrade was $550!!!! Needless to say, we got a new computer instead.
