Hi Buy.com has the sandisk titanium 4GB usb key for $40.32 shipped and if you sign up for google checkout save another $10.
If you like me I have gone through more usb keys then I can count until I bought my first sandisk titanium. They claim a 2000lb burst strength, cant say if it is or not but I have drop, beat and punished my titanium and it has a few scratches. Its built like a tank and is significantly heavier then the standard micro but the micro feels like a cheap plastic toy compared to the titanium. Get them while they last!!!!!!

sweet deal...
Been wanting a Titanium version of the Sandisk.... and that is a nice price.
BTW... in case you don't want to do the Google checkout thing... there is an offer for a $10 magazine subscription when you check out (for all purchases over $25). You can decline the magazine and get the rebate form for a $10 refund.

So does this "titanium" version have a fully metallic casing? I have the black, plastic Cruzer Micro version of this and using it as a keychain has me worried that eventually the weight and fatigue of the heavy keys will break the little ring off. I can already see a lot of wear around the ring holder area. A titanium case would be added security in that case.
I would like to wait for an 8gb version though. 4gbs has proven not to be that sufficient when dealing with the large video/graphics files I work with.

I know what you mean about the plastic version ring breaking off... as my previous one did.
Plus, the titanium comes with a 5 year warranty. The regular Cruzer only comes with a 2 year warranty. :thumb:
And yes, 8GB is better... but 4GB at this price for this particular unit is still a pretty good deal.

One thing I now hate about Buy.com's policy... they won't just "price adjust" against themselves... only against other retailers.
I had to cancel my original order and re-order this again with the cheaper price. (now I have to go through the hassle of refusing the shipment of the first one.)

Now only $19.95 shipped.
I've owned one of these for about a year now and it's rock solid. I don't need anymore flash drives, but at this price I can't resist. I guess I'll give it to my son for college.

You can still get one at amazon for about $26 shipped. I just found out my old plastic cruzer micro is having problems. When I plug it in, the computer gives me an error message saying it can't recognize it. Time to order one made of steel.

I got in on 1/31/08 for $19.95, but my order status is still "Sent to Warehouse".
Their on-line inventory tracking problems and their total lack of customer service caused a monumental screw-up and lots of problems for me a while back. I didn't order from them for over two years after that.
Recently, I decided to to give them another chance, ordering several times for low-priced, non-critical items. Up to now, the newer results had been pretty good.
Bottom line seems to be if they actually have it in stock when you order... no problems. Otherwise, forget about any service or timely follow-up.
Maybe that's why their ResellersRating for the last 6 months is 2.08 out of 10.

When I checked my e-mail today there was the following response from buy.com:
Just a note to let you know that we are still working hard on filling your order #xxxxxxxx.
We have placed an urgent order with our suppliers and are waiting on the backordered or preordered product(s) below.
You'll receive an email from us once your item is on its way.
----------------------------------------------------------
Almost 3 weeks for a response it pretty long. But at least they did respond and let me know that they still plan to fill the order. I guess progress is sometimes made in very small steps.

I got mine... the one I paid $29.03 shipped for.
I also got the one I paid $40.32 for.. however I refused the shipment back to Buy.com for a refund.
Honestly, I don't have a problem with Buy.com, but on this, the price plummeted so fast I guess they just didn't have enough stock on had to fulfill all the orders once it hit the "under $20" mark.
