View Full Version : SS: Stepping in wet cement
Was walking to the train station to take the trip to the airport and pick up some friends who are coming on vacation to visit when I step ankle deep into brand new cement. There was no warning!
I missed my train, am subsequently going to miss picking up my friends and after all that ruined some expensive shoes and jeans. I threw them in the washer after hosing them off. Hopefully they come out ok. SO MAD@!!@$!$!@$!@$!@$!!!

Thats no good. You couldnt see the wetness? Or just weren't looking? Thats really odd that there was no warning. DId you at least put your hands and butt print in the cement? Cause thats a must since you've lost so much at this point.

Or use your finger to write "next time put up a sign" in the cement right next to your footprint.

Use heavy doses of Fels Naptha if it leaves stains..that should get it out.

if what your saying 100% true. i hope you took a picture of the site and got the address . you can take the city or owner to small claims court and recoup your losses. Im think you were on the cell and not watching were you were walking. glad to know you didn't end up face down in the cement do.

Wow, sorry, man. Whenever people pour cement in Waikiki they baricade the area and usually have someone watching it until it sets.
Sorry hadn't replied, as I said I was on my way out for vacation when it happened.
There really was no warning or anything. When I returned later after a change of clothes and spraying off my shoes and stuff they had barricaded it and put up cones. My shoes turned out alright - not perfect - after spraying them down and washing them and my pants turned out fine so I didn't end up saying anything. It just happened at such a mis-opportune time that I got totally mad. In the end I got to meet up with my friends after all and had a good vacation though, so all's well :P I'll try the Fels Naptha soap on the parts of the shoes that had some stain left.
