late NSS: new job

I was working at a dive shop here for a few months and it was really fun, but it was time I got back into a more stable job. Thus, I am now a State of Hawaii employee and enjoy all the wonderful benefits that come with it (including 14 state holidays this year due to it being an election year). woohoo!

pay's DEFINITELY not as good as the private sector, but man, the benefits are great!

I get xmas, new years, 4th of july... um oh, turkey day. i guess i get 4... but i want 14... :)

Labor Day?

I get New Years, Christmas, Thanksgiving and the following day, Labor day, but we also rotate, because we always have to have at least one person available (but not in the job, just constantly checking e-mail)

Well thats too bad. :disa: They force you to take off for 14 days! Thats horrible. Then again, I would never have left the dive shop, but some people like to get wet and others dont.

I only get 6 holidays off per year but I do get 8 more floating holidays for use whenever I want. :P I think everyone should have this many holidays off!
