Well I certainly was fascinated by No Country, I found it to be a compelling film but I didn't leave the theatre thinking "This will beat There Will Be Blood". Who else is surprised?

I haven't seen either so I dont know. But i heard No country was supposed" to win them all. still not sure if i think the oscars are a real voting process or if they are rigged. Some years it just seems like you know who is going to win for who they are as a person and not that they were the best in their nominating group.

No Country for Old Men is one of the best films I've ever seen. There Will Be Blood was great, but just not as good as No Country for Old Men.

The Oscars are bullocks anyways.

I agree that No Country was an amazing movie. It was too painful to watch at some points, and that because it was so good.

My big surprise was that Falling Slowly from Once won over any of the Enchanted songs. For as much as I love Disney movies, I'm glad that it won.

No Country for Old Men is also a hell of a book. Cormac McCarthy is one of the great writers of our age, in my honest opinion(and that of a lot of critics). He won the Pulitzer Prize last year for The Road. He has also won the National Book Award for All the Pretty Horses.

I'm happy to see Daniel Day Lewis win another award. I didn't see either movie, but I think DDL is a pheonom of an actor and I think he was robbed in Gangs of New York.
