hey guys, can anyone tell me how i know if SATA HDD's work in my computer? Also, can i make this drive an external drive formatted to FAT32? Thanks.

Does your motherboard have a SATA port?

And yes... a SATA drive can be formatted in FAT32. However if you are running WinXP and are using this as your OS drive, I'd recommend using NTFS instead.

ill have to check on my mobo tomorrow. So can i SATA drive be used externally?
also, the reason i want FAT32 is cuz im buying a dvd player with a usb port so i can play my music, video etc. files off of my hdd, and it requires FAT32. THanks for the help.

These are internal drives. If you want to use it externally, you would have to buy some kind of external SATA to USB adapter casing.
