What can you do with this? I've never eaten it before....I just saw it...was drawn in by the pretty red....and got it.

It's like I'm a bird..."oooooo...shiny!"

:)

But seriously....what do I do with it?

cook up a little bacon in a very hot skillet..remove bacon and remove most of the grease from the pan..make sure the pan is HOT. Then toss chopped chard into the hot grease and let it cook down..this won't take long. Once cooked down, remove from pan, add 1 teaspoon sugar, 2 teaspoons vinegar (apple cider kind) and the bacon that you previously cooked-crumbled up..serve it warm. ( you can alter the amount of sweetness by lessening the added sugar)..also, you can toss some sliced almonds into the mix when cooked!..mmmm
I've always removed most of the stem as it seems to be too stringy when cooked.

Obby: Would Turkey bacon work ok? I don't partake of the pig.

Any kind of smoked meat, with substantial grease would work..I don't see why turkey bacon wouldn't work..just add a bit of butter to compensate for the lack of fat.
