I am installing a new motherboard which has a 24 pin connector and a 4 pin connector for the power supply. The 24 pin connector has a piece of tape over 4 of the slots which I assume is for a 20 pin connector.
If I recall, the motherboards I have assembled in the past utilized a 20 pin connector plus the separate 4 pin connector. The power supply I have has 24 pins and a 4 pin connector. 4 of the 24 pin connector from the power supply can be removed to be a 20 pin connector???
I am totally confused. Should I use all 24 pins and the other 4 pin connector or 20 of the 24 pins plus the other 4 pin connector?
