Anyone want to start a pool for when it will kill all the engineers and scientists, break out and start looking for Sarah Connor? :borg:

That is really amazing. The jumping like an antelope, the slipping on ice, coming down the snowy hill, all of it was fantastic.

The sound of all the machinery and gyros and such, that was a little unnerving.

The technology is amazing but this is too creepy for me. I'll take the real thing any day. We should be afraid, very afraid!!! The defense department? Before seeing this post I had not seen nor heard of this before. What a great post. :eek2:

When it was indoors and tethered it didn't make much noise. I wonder if the gas engine used outdoors is to generate electricity or to power a hydraulic pump?

Wow. thats intense. be a good pack animal or rescue dog? How far can it go on one tank? It could be my morning ride to work.

that's pretty cool!

i didn't have my sound on, so i didn't hear the gear sounds. however, i think it's just creepy b/c it didn't have a head.

i'm just curious at why they didn't give it bigger paws, wouldn't that give it more traction?

On flat surfaces, yes. But on uneven terrain like that cement block pile or climbing up and down rocky mountain areas, its better off with smaller feet. Think of a mountain goat and how it handles the mountain terrain. Plus, when it needs better balance it seems to be able to bend at the lowest leg joint, drop down and uses the whole first leg section almost like a foot.

Reminds me of a B rate monster movie creature.

I kept expecting someone with a chainsaw to jump out from behind a tree because that's what I was hearing...
(that is a joke, by the way)

Also, for music people-in case you are wondering, the pitch of the robot is an "E".

it's the headlessness and its hairy-looking legs that really creep me out.
