Win 2k with a Samba file server

Does anyone have any Ideas on how to get plain text passwords to work with the file server. I've tried the reg hacks for win 2k, but to no avail. Anyone help?

I used it to connect to my universities samba server and it worked fine. You sure you did everything right?

To enable unencrypted passwords, add the following value and data value to the following registry key:

Value Name: EnablePlainTextPassword
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1
