I hate Vista. I reinstalled my laptop to the Dell Factory settings and this time I turned off the Shadowcopy feature. After I installed everything I notice a major difference. I have 115gig worth of free space as opposed to 65gig. I didn't install FF or FFXI but I can't imagine those two things would make a 50gig difference. That's more of a rant.
Question 1: How do I turn off the UAC feature. It's annoying.
Question 2: How come whenever I remove and insert an SD card, the SD card isn't recognized? It was before. The MS solution: Reboot and you know that works until you remove the SD card and put a different one in. I never had this problem in XP.

Control Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account control On or Off
I have had Zero problems with my Vista Laptop so far. Maybe it's a Dell with vista Thing? I have an HP.

Vista...
Some folks love it... Some folks hate it...
Personally, I don't see the need for it over what I already got (WinXP).
I pretty much can wait on it... for now. :D
BTW Thesifer, I don't think it's a "manufactuer" problem. Do you have the same configuration of laptop as mcs328? If so, then you might have a valid arguement... however depending on his specs, his laptop might not be optimized for using Vista (even if it was sold with Vista on it.)

Thanks. I'll try that tonight. Like someone said before...XP had strange things in familiar places but Vista has strange things in unfamiliar places. Or something like that.

Yeah, Vista is a little less intuitive. Like they went and changed the "add/remove programs" name, Because THAT's necessary.
:)
I don't think I would suggest anyone get Vista right now if they don't have to. But if you are getting an HP laptop and it has vista on it .. Specifically an HP DV6770 With 3 Gb ram, Then I would. :) It hasn't had a single problem yet.
